Louis Mitre is a bi-lingual singer, songwriter, and producer born in Mexico City who blends alternative, tango, traditional Mexican music, s and sounds from the everyday world. Currently based in Los Angeles, Mitre came to the USA via Italy, where he produced, recorded and built a huge following. In 2010 he launched his first CD under the name “Fugitivo” (Fugitive) and within a year he was named Favorite Artist by Italian “Radio FM”. One year later he moved to Texas to continue writing and producing at the renowned “Sonic Ranch”, studios. After moving to Los Angeles, Mitre continued touring Europe and the USA, singing at venues and festivals including the BMI Summer Stage in NY, the LAMC, the official ceremony of Mexican Independence in Paris, Fr. and Barcelona, Spain and BMI’s prestigious bi-lingual showcase at the Gibson Showroom in Beverly Hills, CA. He also appeared at the BMI Summer Stage 2015, SXSW 2016, The Hotel Café in Hollywood, and he has been featured by KCRW on Today’s Top Tune.
Louis Mitre has joined with singer Andie Sandoval to form the duo MITRE. The duo has released its first video, a cover of Ed Sheeran’s Shape of You. MITRE’s live appearances with a full band are accompanied by La Katarina, the iconic Mexican skeleton queen of the dead, played by actor/director Hugo Melendez. Louis Mitre’s latest album, Mitre is available in all digital stores around the world and features artists like David Garza, Irene Diaz, Yuri Lemeshev, Gogol Bordello, and Margaret Cho. A new album by the duo MITRE is in the works.
